Edmund W. Searby has been hired by Baker Hostetler to serve as a partner with the law firm’s litigation group in its Cleveland office, according to a press release.
Nationally renowned as a trial attorney, Searby focuses his practice on white collar defense and corporate investigations, as well as securities, antitrust and commercial issues.
He joins the firm from McDonald Hopkins.
“Ned is an outstanding addition to our national litigation team,” chair W. Ray Whitman with the Baker Hostetler litigation group said. “His tremendous experience in both the public and private sector enhances our deep bench of trial lawyers.”
Managing partner Hewitt B. Shaw said the legal recruitment of Searby will enhance the strength of the firm’s litigation services throughout the nation because of Searby’s credentials and trial record.
Formerly a federal prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice and the Office of the Independent Counsel, Searby holds a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School. His undergraduate degree was awarded by Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.
