Wilson Sonsini Adds Former SEC Official Tamara Brightwell to Public Company Practice

Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, the premier provider of legal services to technology, life sciences, and growth enterprises worldwide, announced today that Tamara Brightwell has joined the firm as a corporate partner in Washington, D.C., where she will be a member of the Public Company Representation practice. The move reflects Wilson Sonsini’s continuing efforts to offer expansive resources and advice concerning securities law and Securities and Exchange Commission compliance to its more than 300 public company clients, as well as late-stage pre-IPO companies. Brightwell joins the firm after almost two decades at the SEC.

Holland & Knight Strengthens Corporate Practice in Chicago with Additions of Matthew Petersen and Morley Fortier

Matthew Petersen and Morley Fortier III, two highly regarded mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and private equity attorneys in Chicago, have joined Holland & Knight as partners. Mr. Petersen will serve as head of the Chicago Corporate, M&A and Private Equity practice. He and Mr. Fortier join the firm from Reed Smith, where Mr. Petersen served as managing partner of the Chicago office and in 2019-2020 served as the vice chair of the Business & Finance Department. Prior to acting as vice chair, Mr. Petersen served as practice group leader for the U.S. Corporate practice group.

Sidley Strengthens Growing Global Restructuring Group With the Return of Kieran Sharma

Sidley is pleased to announce that Kieran Sharma has rejoined the global Restructuring group as a partner in London. The addition of Mr. Sharma follows the recent arrival of Stephen E. Hessler as the firm’s new global practice leader for the Restructuring group. Mr. Sharma joins Sidley from the global investment firm Strategic Value Partners (SVP) where he was a Director in its European investment team, focusing on credit, distressed debt and private equity opportunities. Prior to joining SVP, Mr. Sharma worked for three years in Sidley’s Restructuring group in London as a senior associate.
