As a highly respected adviser to the oil and gas sector, Griston will also be a key member of the Energy practice. Wassink brings extensive experience on private equity transactions and will strengthen the Firm’s Private Equity group. Both lawyers will join on September 1, 2017.

David Griston joins Dentons Boekel from Clifford Chance, where he led the Energy team in Amsterdam. He focuses on high-value M&A in the energy, natural resources and commodities sectors. “Having a strong Corporate practice in all major European markets is a cornerstone of our market position strategy,” said Tomasz Dabrowski, CEO of Dentons Europe. “Both David and Kuif have a very strong international background and, together with our existing Corporate team in Amsterdam, will provide our clients with a high-quality, diversified corporate and M&A offering in the Netherlands.”

Wendela Raas, Netherlands Managing Partner, added, “Our new partners bring deep knowledge and experience in the energy industry – in particular oil and gas – as well as private equity. These are two important sectors in the Dutch market.”

These two Corporate partner hires represent Dentons Boekel’s latest investments into key practice areas. The Firm recently established its Tax practice in the Netherlands with the recruitment of a team of four lawyers, including Jurjen Bevers, Paul Halprin, Heico Reinoud and Marnix Veldhuijzen.

“When we combined with Dentons back in April, we set out three main growth priorities for the Netherlands: Corporate, Tax, and Banking and Finance,” said Marien Glerum, Chief Managing Officer for Dentons Boekel. “Within just a few months, we have already gained incredible momentum in our strategy – recruiting two highly ranked Corporate and M&A partners and launching our Tax practice.”
