The global law firm Jones Day has announced that M&A lawyer Ton Schutte will join the Firm as a partner in its Amsterdam Office.
Mr. Schutte’s practice includes M&A advisory, private equity matters, and general corporate law. He has extensive experience in negotiating, structuring, and closing cross-border transactions for Dutch and global corporate clients and has worked in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and New York.
“Ton is an outstanding transactional lawyer with a record of successful client engagements in a number of significant industries and sectors,” said Lyle Ganske, who leads Jones Day’s global M&A Practice. “As cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions continue to become increasingly complex, Jones Day clients will more than ever need the skills and strategies that a lawyer like Ton can offer. We are very pleased he is joining Jones Day.”
“Ton will be an excellent addition to what is already a very effective transactional team in Amsterdam,” added Yvan Desmedt, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day’s Amsterdam Office. “Ton’s arrival reflects the ambitions we have in the Netherlands and adds to a number of successful recent hires. His experience will provide valuable insights on deal development and structuring that will benefit our clients throughout the region and around the world.”
A practicing lawyer since 1991, Mr. Schutte’s work has been recognized by Chambers Global and The Legal 500 for M&A and private equity matters.
