The global law firm Jones Day announces that Rick van ’t Hullenaar, previously with De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek N.V., will join the Firm’s Investigations & White Collar Defense Practice as a Partner in its Amsterdam Office starting 1 November, 2019.
Mr. van ’t Hullenaar assists multinational companies in preventing and managing regulatory, reputational and compliance risks, and represents clients facing enforcement actions by domestic, regional, and international authorities. He conducts cross-border internal investigations into a variety of issues, including corruption, bribery, fraud, economic sanctions, export controls, and other regulatory or reputational issues. His experience includes investigations in Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and the Middle East. With his substantial knowledge in EU trade and sanctions, he also maintains an active practice in Brussels, which is an important regulatory hub in the EU.

In addition to his experience with investigations, international trade and white collar criminal defense, Mr. van ’t Hullenaar assists clients in assessing their compliance risks, including in a transactional context, and enhancing their compliance programs. He lectures regularly on a variety of subjects spanning his areas of practice, is a visiting lecturer at Leiden University, and a frequent speaker at international trade conferences.
