Barnes & Thornburg LLP announced today that Elizabeth B. Davis has joined the firm’s Environmental Law Department as a partner in the Atlanta office. Davis focuses her practice on environmental and product liability matters.
Davis provides a broad spectrum of support to her business clients. As a former assistant regional counsel with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 4, she has experience with regulatory compliance, permitting, enforcement defense and litigation. Davis counsels clients and litigates in virtually all aspects of federal and state laws related to hazardous waste, underground storage tanks, water, air, pesticides, toxic substances, and occupational safety and health.
Davis also counsels manufacturers, importers and retailers in consumer product safety and food and drug regulatory requirements, including designing and managing recalls and defending related product liability claims.
“Beth’s EPA and private practice experience with regulatory compliance, permitting, enforcement defense and litigation matters will be an invaluable asset to our clients in the Southeast and nationally looking for pragmatic assistance with environmental issues,” said Charles Denton, chair of the firm’s Environmental Law Department. “Additionally, Beth’s capabilities in other areas such as product liability and the environmental aspects of corporate and real estate transactions solidify the firm’s ability to provide value in serving our clients’ environmental needs.”
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Agnes Scott College in 1985, Davis earned her law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1989. Davis is admitted to practice in Georgia. In addition to involvement with the ABA Section of Environment, Energy and Resources (SEER), Davis is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, a member of the National Leadership Council of Lambda Legal and chair of the board of directors of The Suzi Bass Awards.
