Eversheds Sutherland is pleased to announce that the firm has further expanded its bankruptcy capabilities as David A. Wender has joined the firm’s Finance Practice Group as a partner in the Atlanta office and as Head of Corporate Debt Advisory – Financial Restructuring Group. Mr. Wender is an accomplished financial restructuring and workout attorney with almost 20 years of experience in guiding clients through complex situations and was recently inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy. His arrival comes on the heels of several other bankruptcy, restructuring and insolvency attorneys Eversheds Sutherland has added in the US in the past six months – further highlighting the firm’s focus on expanding this growing practice area and serving complex client needs. Mr. Wender, who is joining from Alston & Bird, represents a broad range of clients in complex bankruptcy cases, out-of-court workouts, debt restructurings, asset dispositions, and claims reconciliation procedures.
“I am thrilled to welcome David to the firm. He is an excellent addition to our Finance Practice Group and further deepens our bankruptcy and restructuring bench,” said Mark D. Wasserman, Co-CEO of Eversheds Sutherland. “Our intentional multi-practice growth in this area has allowed us to create a dedicated Financial Restructuring Team that has extensive litigation and transactional experience and is advising clients in highly complex financial restructuring and bankruptcy cases.” “David maintains a broad bankruptcy practice, including financial institution representations and bankruptcy litigation, which will add significant depth and breadth to our growing team,” said Peter A. Fozzard, Practice Group Leader Finance (US). “His extensive experience in this complex area will benefit a number of our clients, particularly strengthening our ability to serve our international clients with bankruptcy needs in the US.” He represents purchasers, sellers, and other parties in bankruptcy Section 363 sales, debtors in possession, secured and unsecured creditors, and creditor’s committees. He also has extensive experience representing financial institutions, officers, directors, and other entities in complex litigation and transactional engagements in state and federal courts throughout the US.
