Intellectual Property Trial Lawyer Jeffrey Morgan Joins Ballard Spahr in Atlanta

Jeffrey C. Morgan — a trial lawyer with a national litigation practice focusing on intellectual property litigation and other complex civil litigation matters—has joined Ballard Spahr’s Intellectual Property Department and Intellectual Property Litigation Group as Of Counsel, firm Chair Peter V. Michaud announced today. Mr. Morgan is resident in the firm’s Atlanta office. Mr. Morgan joined Ballard Spahr from Barnes & Thornburg.

“An attorney with Jeff’s superb trial skills would be a welcome addition to any firm—that he’s joining ours is reason to celebrate,” said IP Litigation Practice Leader and Atlanta Office Managing Partner Richard W. Miller. “Jeff is an incredibly accomplished first-chair trial lawyer who brings significant strength to our already-strong bench, both here in Georgia and nationwide.”

Mr. Morgan handles patent, trademark, and copyright infringement and trade secret misappropriation matters across an array of industries and technologies, including computer networks, mobile networks, semiconductors, and software. His clients range from start-ups and emerging companies to Fortune 100 organizations. At Ballard Spahr, he will handle high-profile intellectual property litigation cases and other matters where a jury trial is foreseeable.

Mr. Morgan is the fourth recent addition to the Atlanta office, following IP attorneys Keisha O. Coleman and Courtney Adams Thornton, and Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation attorney Christian Fox. He previously served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia. He also is a professional screen and stage actor.

“Ballard is known for its superb client service and its excellence in IP litigation,” Mr. Morgan said. “My clients will benefit from the resources of this national firm and deep bench of top-notch talent.”
