Squire Patton Boggs is pleased to announce that David Long-Daniels and Angela F. Ramson have joined the firm from Greenberg Traurig where they were both shareholders and Mr. Long-Daniels served as Co-Chair of the Labor & Employment Practice’s Complex Employment Litigation & Trials group.
“In David and Angela, we have gained two highly respected practitioners who represent blue chip companies on high-stakes matters across the country,” said Fred Nance, global managing partner, US LLP. “As a Black managing partner, I am particularly pleased to have two such accomplished African-American partners join our ranks in an exciting and expanding market like Atlanta. We plan to continue to grow with it, now with David and Angela on our team.”
“David and Angela are exciting additions to our team and bring extensive credentials advising clients on novel issues and major disputes,” said Jill Kirila, Global co-chair for the Labor & Employment Practice. “They will help take our practice to even greater heights at a time when we are already experiencing increased demand for employment law advice as clients continue to confront workplace shifts resulting from the pandemic.”
Commenting on their decision to join the firm, Mr. Long-Daniels and Ms. Ramson said, “Squire Patton Boggs’ collaborative culture, extensive platform and embrace of diversity make it a perfect place from which to serve our clients. We are excited to work with the team here in Atlanta to continue to grow the office and support our colleagues across the firm.”
Known for his creative approaches to difficult, high-stakes cases, Mr. Long-Daniels represents clients across the country in complex labor and employment matters. He has tried more than 50 jury trials and approximately 20 bench trials and arbitrations. He is recognized as a leading defense trial lawyer for bet-the-company cases and is frequently named among the very best trial lawyers in Georgia. David handles complex litigation matters of importance, often with sizable monetary values throughout the country.
Mr. Long-Daniels has taught labor and employment as an Adjunct Law Professor at both the University of Alabama School of Law and the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. Prior to law school, he was a Captain in the US Air Force.
Ms. Ramson’ practices encompass both labor and employment, as well as commercial litigation. In her employment practice, she counsels and represents employers on discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, leaves of absence, employee accommodations, personnel policies, wage and hour compliance, class and collective actions and employment agreements along with other labor and employment issues. Her practice also includes areas of traditional labor law, including collective bargaining negotiations, unfair labor practice charges, union avoidance strategy and training, strike response and contingency planning, and grievance proceedings.
She has also represented clients in a variety of complex commercial litigation matters, including business and contractual disputes, trademark litigation, construction litigation, internal investigations, corporate compliance and governmental regulation. Ms. Ramson has broad experience with eDiscovery management and document retention.
“Since opening in Atlanta just over three years ago, our ambitions have been rooted by a desire to provide our clients with the connections, reach and expertise they need to propel their business. David and Angela are important additions to our full-service offering and we are thrilled they are part of our team,” said Squire Patton Boggs Atlanta managing partner Ann-Marie McGaughey.
These appointments mark the latest additions into the firm’s growing Atlanta office, which in early March hired former US Ambassador to Luxembourg and renowned jury trial lawyer J. Randolph Evans. This growth reflects expansion taking place elsewhere around the firm, including recent hires into its Brussels, Dubai, Frankfurt, London, Milan, New York, Paris, Riyadh, Singapore and Sydney offices.
