Lewis Brisbois Adds Six Nationally Recognized Attorneys to Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice

Lewis Brisbois is pleased to announce the addition of six attorneys to its Data Privacy & Cybersecurity (DPCS) Practice. This nationally recognized team includes Jackson, Mississippi-based Partner Robert Walker, CIPP/US, Associates Erica Lloyd and Rachel Pitts, as well as New Orleans-based Partner Ross Molina, Atlanta-based Partner Tawana Johnson, and Houston-based Associate Ryan Cook. These attorneys, who bring to the firm more than 50 years of combined experience in the data privacy space, will assist clients with, among other things, responding to data breaches, complying with data privacy requirements, addressing pre- and post-incident cybersecurity, and responding to state and federal regulatory investigations. The team will bolster Lewis Brisbois’ DPCS Practice and further the firm’s commitment to excel and serve clients at the highest level. The group arrives from Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker LLP.

Firm Co-Chairman Bob Smith stated, “We are delighted to have this top tier cyber group join the firm to continue and expand our service to our insurance and corporate-based clients in this cutting edge field of law. Our cyber and class action litigation group is already second to none in the nation, and by this acquisition we are expanding our reach in the breach response and counseling arena. Importantly, Robert Walker and his team are great individuals who align closely with our firm culture of civility and team play.”

Likewise, Mr. Walker noted, “We are excited to have joined a firm that consistently has been a leader in the cybersecurity space. We look forward to working with Lewis Brisbois’ talented data privacy attorneys and to contributing to the continued success of the national team.”

Mr. Walker, who has two decades of legal experience, previously served as co-chair of Wilson Elser’s Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Practice, where he led a 24/7 breach response services team, advised clients on all aspects of data privacy compliance, and litigated in state and federal courts. Mr. Molina and Ms. Johnson each have more than 15 years of legal experience, and have worked with clients on matters including pre- and post-incident cybersecurity, national and international breach response, compliance with data privacy laws, and responding to regulatory investigations. Similarly, Mr. Cook, Ms. Lloyd, and Ms. Pitts have extensive experience guiding clients through the incident response process, advising on compliance with legal obligations under HIPAA, GLBA, FERPA, GDPR, and state laws, as well as proactively mitigating vulnerabilities in clients’ cybersecurity systems.
