Parker Poe is pleased to announce the expansion of the Public Finance team with the addition of partner Matt Nichols, effective March 13. Mr. Nichols will work in the firm’s Atlanta office representing issuers and underwriters and other financial institutions in financings for state and local governments, health care systems and institutions of higher education.
Matt brings to Parker Poe more than 20 years of Georgia bond counsel experience having practiced in the areas of public finance and public private partnerships with a focus on health care, higher education, energy and transportation. He was part of Georgia Trend’s Legal Elite in 2016 for Public Finance and was named to The Best Lawyers in America in Public Finance Law for 2017. He is a member of the National Association of Bond Counsel and a fellow in the American College of Bond Counsel. He previously served on the Public Finance Options Task Force of the Commission for a New Georgia and as chairman of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Wildlife Federation.
The addition of Matt to Parker Poe’s nationally ranked Tier 1 Public Finance Group marks a continued commitment to the growth of the firm’s public finance team of 13 attorneys and expansion into Georgia. Mr. Nichols received his law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business.
