McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP announced that Steve Berson has joined the firm’s corporate practice as a partner in the Atlanta office. He brings more than 30 years of experience in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, securities and technology. He has also advised companies on a range of SEC, stock exchange, corporate governance and executive compensation matters.
Berson’s client base includes middle-market companies and the investment banks and financial institutions that serve them. He also works with venture-backed companies and the investors that fund them. Before practicing in Atlanta, he practiced law in New York and Silicon Valley. Throughout the course of his career, he has worked on hundreds of M&A, venture capital, private equity and technology transactions, as well as more than 100 public offerings, including more than 30 initial public offerings.
“McKenna’s sweet spot for transactions is the middle market and I was drawn to that,” said Berson. “The firm’s current platform, and its soon-to-be-expanded global platform as Dentons, will allow me to provide high-quality client service to middle-market clients anywhere in the country and the world as they seek to grow.”
“We are excited to have Steve join the firm, and in particular, the corporate practice,” said McKenna Chairman Jeff Haidet. “Steve’s depth of experience and middle-market focus are a perfect complement to our existing practice.”
Berson received his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School and his undergraduate degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
