McGuireWoods LLP today announced that Kevin Duddlesten has joined the firm’s Labor and Employment Department as a partner in Austin, where he will represent employers in all areas of labor and employment law.
Duddlesten focuses much of his practice on employment litigation, arbitration and mediation involving wage and hour disputes and other claims, as well as enforcement and violations of non-competition agreements and other employment contracts. He also brings to the firm more than 18 years of experience representing employers before administrative agencies, including the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Texas Commission on Human Rights and the Texas Workforce Commission.
“We are excited that Kevin has decided to join the firm,” said Joel Spitz, chair of the firm’s Labor and Employment Department. “His in-house and law firm experience will add great value to the service we provide our clients, particularly in the area of employment litigation.”
“We are delighted to expand our Austin office by welcoming Kevin to the team,” said J. Mark Lawless, managing partner of the firm’s Austin office.
“I am thrilled to return home to Texas and look forward to working with McGuireWoods,” Duddlesten said. “The firm’s full-service capabilities and international reach will undoubtedly benefit my current clients, and I look forward to growing my practice by supporting the team.”
Duddlesten joins the firm from Littler Mendelson’s Boston office, where he was a shareholder. He previously worked as the assistant labor and employment general counsel for a global provider of secure transportation and cash logistics services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of a Fortune 500 company. He earned his J.D. in 1994 from the University of Texas School of Law and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Louisville in 1991.
