Bracewell & Giuliani LLP is pleased to announce that Justice Dale Wainwright has joined the firm’s appellate practice in Austin. Justice Wainwright recently stepped down as a justice on the Texas Supreme Court after 10 years of service.
“We are very pleased to welcome Justice Wainwright to the firm,” said Bracewell’s Managing Partner Mark C. Roberts. “He will be a tremendous asset to our appellate practice as well as to the entire Austin office.”
Justice Wainwright will represent clients in complex appeals in state and federal appellate courts. He will counsel clients on litigation strategy, error preservation at trial, jury charge preparation and argument, post-verdict proceedings, analysis of the trial record for appellate potential and structuring appeals for success in the appellate courts.
Prior to joining Bracewell, Justice Wainwright served on the Texas Supreme Court for 10 years, authoring more than 125 opinions. Elected to the Supreme Court in 2002, he was the third-longest-serving member of the court at the time of his resignation. Justice Wainwright began his judicial career in 1999 when he was appointed by Governor George W. Bush to preside over the 334th Civil Judicial District Court in Houston, Texas. As judge of the 334th District Court, he resolved 3,000 cases and presided over more than 100 trials. Prior to becoming a jurist, he represented clients at trial and in appeals for more than a decade.
