Leading Water Industry Attorney Wes Strickland has joined Holland & Knight as a partner in the firm’s Austin office. His clients include U.S.-based and multinational water companies and financial institutions that develop, manage and finance water resources and infrastructure. He was previously a partner with Jackson Walker.
“Wes is a wonderful strategic hire for our firm. His practice complements our utilities and regulatory focus in Austin and in California, where he also has a great reputation,” said Mark Davis, executive partner of Holland & Knight’s Austin office. “His credentials with the private water industry are unparalleled, and we predict that his counsel will be increasingly in demand as we deal with the ongoing effects of climate change.”
Mr. Strickland has been involved in many of the largest and most significant water development projects and transactions in the United States for the past 20 years, with a strong focus on California, Texas and the West. He spends significant time counseling clients on sustainable management of surface water and groundwater resources, and assists with development and finance of infrastructure projects, including water reuse, desalination and transfers.
“Holland & Knight offers a great opportunity to expand my water resources and infrastructure practice,” said Mr. Strickland. “The firm’s nationwide platform, strong regulatory support and mix of clients were very attractive to me as I planned the next stage of my career.”
Mr. Strickland earned a J.D. degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law and a B.A. degree from Yale University. He is admitted to practice in Texas, California and New York.
