Experienced litigators Alicia N. Ritchie and Jonathan J. Huber have joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Ritchie, who joins as a partner, and Huber, who joins as of counsel, both formerly were with Miles & Stockbridge, where Ritchie co-led the Products Liability, Mass Torts, and Environmental Energy Practice Group.
Based in Baltimore, Ritchie is an experienced litigator who handles complex cases in jurisdictions across the country. She routinely defends manufacturers, hospitals, retailers, and other corporate clients in a variety of litigation matters that span industries and pose substantial financial and reputational risk to their businesses. Her areas of focus include products liability and mass tort litigation, catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death claims, negligence, toxic tort, and multi-district litigation. She also has experience representing businesses in commercial disputes as well as premises liability matters.
Huber, based in Washington, D.C., litigates and tries multi-party complex toxic tort, insurance, environmental, construction defect, and business tort cases in state and federal courts around the United States. He has represented Fortune 500 clients in mass tort and environmental disputes related to a variety of toxic substances, including dioxin, PCBs, asbestos, and silica. He also represents clients in settlement negotiations and arbitration proceedings and advises in mediation procedures. In addition to his litigation practice, Huber also acts as a general business counselor to start-up companies on matters including entity selection, intellectual property protection, and contract negotiation.

Ritchie earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Baltimore. Huber earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
Also this month, the Baltimore office expanded its corporate practice with the addition of three attorneys: Matthew Huddle and Eric Smith as partners and Adam Scharff as an associate. The arrival of Smith and Scharff expands the office’s real estate component, while Huddle’s corporate and mergers and acquisitions experience will benefit clients in a variety of industries. The office now houses 31 attorneys.
