Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP (Orrick) announced today that a corporatetransactional team led by partner Thomas Man has joined the firm’s China corporate practice, based in Beijing. An accomplished and highly respected China corporate lawyer, Mr. Man focuses on inbound and outbound M&A and complex cross-border transactions representing Chinese and international companies.
Joining Mr. Man is Brad Herrold, an of counsel with nearly 20 years experience in the PRC. Both lawyers join Orrick from Hogan Lovells where they had been members of that firm’s China corporate practice. They join an established Orrick presence in the Greater China corporate transactional and M&A markets that has been growing dramatically with recent partner additions including Jeffrey Sun, William Woo, Allen Shyu and Maurice Hoo.
Complementing Orrick’s corporate transactional capabilities, Veronica Lockyer, an of counsel from Orrick’s London office, also recently relocated to the firm’s Shanghai office. Ms. Lockyer provides expanded capabilities on regulatory and transactional matters, including a unique skill set in antitrust, data privacy and other important emerging issues in the China market. She will provide on the ground support for Chinese clients investing in Europe.
Michelle Taylor, Orrick’s China office leader, said: “We have seen tremendous growth in the inbound and outbound M&A market and the demand for sophisticated legal support from Chinese and international clients. Thomas and Brad are talented lawyers with stellar credentials and their joining will further strengthen one of the most experienced corporate teams in China. We are delighted that they are now part of our Greater China practice as we continue to grow to meet our clients’ needs throughout the region.”
Mr. Man received his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington. He also holds a Ph.D. in American constitutional history from The Johns Hopkins University and a M.A. in Western History from Beijing University.
