Morgan Lewis today welcomes Hao Su, a corporate lawyer who has represented clients in numerous cross border M&A transactions, as a partner resident in Beijing.
Hao has advised clients throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australia and China in a wide range of commercial and corporate matters including China outbound and inbound mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures. He advises clients in various sectors such as energy and natural resources, particularly within oil & gas and power, technology, advanced manufacturing, agriculture, and media.
“I am delighted to welcome Hao to Morgan Lewis, where he deepens our ability to serve clients in cross-border deals,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “His arrival further solidifies our firm’s commitment to representing corporate clients in China, throughout the Asia-Pacific region, and around the world.”
Recent representations on which Hao has advised include a Chinese state owned enterprise’s acquisition of a minority interest in a major oil and gas asset in Russia; the proposed acquisition of a minority interest in a power transmission company in Europe; and the proposed acquisition of a controlling stake in a technology company with operations across Europe, the United States and China.
“Hao is an ideal addition to our collaborative cross-border transactional team in China,” said Edwin Luk, the leader of Morgan Lewis’s Asia Capital Markets practice, resident in Hong Kong, and a member of the firm’s International Leadership team. “His wide-ranging work on large and complex international deals adds to our team’s strengths and will benefit our Chinese and global clients as they achieve their business objectives around the world.”
The arrival of Hao demonstrates Morgan Lewis’s continued growth trajectory throughout Asia, having recently announced the additions of corporate partner Karun Cariappa in Singapore and investment management partner Helen Fok in Hong Kong.
