Global law firm Dentons has expanded its Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy practice in Germany with the recruitment of Dr. Holger Ellers, who joined the Berlin office as a partner effective today. He will advise clients on restructuring, insolvency and corporate law, and will strengthen the Firm’s existing practice with his experience in international distressed M&A transactions. Holger Ellers joins from Baker McKenzie, where he last headed the German Restructuring practice.
Andreas Ziegenhagen, Germany Managing Partner and Head of Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy in Germany and Europe, commented: “Holger Ellers is an excellent addition to our team in Germany, Europe and on a global level – both professionally and personally. His move will strengthen our restructuring and insolvency offering and is a strong signal for our clients, especially in the current market situation.”
He advises German and international clients on restructuring matters, corporate transactions, including acquisitions in crisis and insolvency, as well as on all aspects of insolvency law. His clients include creditors, investors, debtors and shareholders in crisis situations as well as insolvency administrators. He brings deep experience in the fashion, retail and automotive sectors. Most recently, he advised on the protective shield proceedings of the German companies of an international fashion group and acted for creditors in the insolvency proceedings of the Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof department store. Holger Ellers regularly advises creditors in the automotive industry on insolvency proceedings and supports strategic investors with acquisitions from the insolvency administrator.
Dr. Stephan Busch, Berlin Managing Partner, said: “I cordially welcome Holger Ellers to our Berlin office and am pleased that we have established ourselves as an attractive Firm for reputable lawyers. Our ability to attract top talent continues to reinforce our strong position in the market”.
