Bowditch & Dewey, LLP today announced that Attorneys Katherine R. (Katie) Dorval, Jonathan R. Hausner and Patrick S. Tracey have joined the firm as partners.
With their hiring, Bowditch is expanding three practice areas—Estate, Financial and Tax Planning; Real Estate and Environmental; and Dispute Resolution and Trials—and growing its Boston, Framingham and Worcester, MA offices.

Katie Dorval is an established estate planning attorney helping individuals, couples and families (including small business owners) in Massachusetts and Rhode Island with estate, trust and succession planning. Katie believes in a common-sense, problem-solving approach to help clients achieve their long-term goals. With her skill set, clients can reduce their taxable estates and plan for future generations. Her expertise includes wills, trusts and other essential documents to protect assets, including limited liability companies and other vehicles for holding investment real estate.
Formerly serving as senior counsel at a MetroWest firm, Ms. Dorval holds a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and a B.A., summa cum laude in history from Syracuse University.
Jonathan Hausner is an attorney in Bowditch’s Real Estate & Environmental group. He has extensive experience in construction and design transactions and dispute resolution, including public and private procurement, contract drafting and negotiation, litigation and alternative dispute resolution. He previously served as a partner in the construction practice group and land law section of a major New England law firm, where he managed several complex matters involving hotels, infrastructure projects, residential construction, educational facilities and commercial office space.
Mr. Hausner earned his J.D., cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School and a B.A. in political science from Roanoke College. He also completed a Barrister’s Pupilage sponsored by Suffolk University Law School and the Chambers of Georges Khayat, QC, London, England.
A seasoned litigator, Patrick Tracey represents and counsels clients in connection with class actions, regulatory investigations, financial fraud and consumer finance matters for financial institutions. Additionally, his practice involves the representation of clients in complex commercial litigation matters, including general business disputes, tort and products liability matters.
Prior to joining Bowditch, Mr. Tracey was the Head of Litigation for a large national bank. A U.S. Air Force Veteran who served during Operation Desert Storm, he provides legal services to other veterans and their families on a pro bono basis. In addition to a J.D. from Suffolk, he holds a B.S., cum laude, from Western Connecticut State University.
