Kirkland & Ellis is pleased to announce that Christian Atwood has joined the Firm as a corporate partner in its Boston office. Mr. Atwood joins Kirkland from Choate Hall & Stewart LLP where he was co-chair of the firm’s private equity group and a member of the firm’s executive committee.

Mr. Atwood’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions and other strategically important transactions, with a particular focus on private equity funds and their portfolio companies. His recent work has involved targets in a wide array of industries, throughout the U.S. and in international markets, including health care, industrials, manufacturing, oilfield services, SaaS and other technology plays.

Mr. Atwood holds a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and an A.B. from Dartmouth College. He is noted in Chambers USA (2017) and The Legal 500 U.S. (2017) as a leading M&A lawyer in the field of private equity buyouts.
