Experienced Trademark Attorney Timothy Hiebert, Ph.D., Joins Womble Bond Dickinson in Boston

Womble Bond Dickinson once again has bolstered its growing Boston office with the addition of veteran trademark attorney Timothy Hiebert, Ph.D. He joins Womble Bond Dickinson as a Senior Partner. He comes to Womble Bond Dickinson from Samuels & Hiebert, LLC in Boston, a firm he helped found with long-time colleague Stephen Samuels.

Hiebert has 30 years of experience guiding clients through trademark searches as well as prosecuting domestic and foreign trademark applications. He has handled well over 5,000 U.S. applications and registrations during his career, and is experienced in managing large portfolios of trademark applications and registrations in other jurisdictions.

In addition, Hiebert has been a frequent author on issues pertaining to trademark law, and has served on the editorial boards of the Maine Law Review, the Fletcher Forum and the Trademark Reporter. He also is the author of a book on the gray market and US trademark law.

At a predecessor firm, he worked with Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Danielle Herritt, also a member of the firm’s Boston team.

“When Steve decided to retire after an outstanding career, I started to think about the next chapter of my own career,” Hiebert said. “Womble Bond Dickinson is a great fit for my clients and my practice. The firm has a robust trademark practice, including in the life sciences sector, and I’m well-acquainted with a number of my new colleagues.”

“Tim is a wonderful addition to our firm and our Boston office. He has a proven track record of serving clients, and is highly respected in trademark circles,” said Sarah Keefe, Managing Partner of Womble Bond Dickinson’s Boston office and co-leader of the firm’s Trademarks and Brand Management service team.
