Global law firm Goodwin announced today that Nick Losurdo returned to the firm as a partner in its Financial Industry practice in Boston. Losurdo rejoins Goodwin after serving at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as counsel to Commissioner Elad Roisman.

Losurdo advises a variety of clients on regulatory, compliance, transactional and enforcement matters. He counsels broker-dealers, alternative trading systems, equity and option exchanges, and investment advisers regarding SEC and FINRA rules and regulations. Losurdo helps technology and other companies in the area of blockchain and digital currency (including compliance with federal and state regulations). He also assists private equity funds during strategic and financial acquisitions, dispositions and restructurings involving financial institutions.
While at the SEC, Losurdo advised Commissioner Roisman on a broad array of legal, policy and regulatory matters, including proposed and final rulemaking, interpretations and exemptive relief, and enforcement matters. Among other major matters, Losurdo advised on rulemaking relating to Regulation Best Interest, Form CRS, and the investment adviser standard of conduct interpretation; changes to Regulation NMS in the area of market data and order handling disclosures and other market structure policy considerations; and Title VII under the Dodd-Frank Act.
