Global law firm Goodwin today announced that Jacquelyn “Jacque” Burke has joined the firm’s Risk Management and Insurance practice, as a partner in the Boston office. Burke arrives at Goodwin from Cooley, where they served as special counsel.

Jacque specializes in advising clients on complex insurance and risk management issues across various liability areas, helping them from coverage placement to resolution of claims, often without litigation. She supports institutional clients on the full scope of insurance programs including coverage placement, and navigating major events like mergers, acquisitions, and bankruptcy. She also helps to design custom insurance programs and policies for unique risks, including in connection with innovative technologies.
Goodwin’s standout Risk Management and Insurance practice is comprised of experts with extensive experience counseling insured entities, their management and boards of directors in a wide variety of industries on insurance coverage matters. Specifically, the team advises insureds on the selection of appropriate directors and officers, professional liability and other management liability insurance; securing competitive renewal terms and premiums on existing insurance coverage; purchasing appropriate coverage or extended claim reporting options in the event of corporate transactions such as acquisitions, mergers or IPOs; and performing insurance and litigation due diligence on acquisition or merger targets.
