Kirkland & Ellis LLP is pleased to announce that Sean Hill and Stephanie Berdik have joined the Firm’s Boston office, which opened earlier this month, as partners in the Investment Funds Group.

Mr. Hill represents investment managers in all aspects of their business and operations, with a particular emphasis on formation of private investment funds, and in structuring and execution of secondary transactions. He has experience advising managers across the spectrum, from emerging managers to established, multi-strategy firms managing more than $100 billion in assets. Mr. Hill has been recognized as a leading attorney for fund formation by industry publications including Chambers USA, which noted that he is “very pragmatic, responsive and very attuned to his clients’ particular needs,” The Legal 500 U.S. and Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars. Mr. Hill was previously co-head of the Private Investment Funds Group at Proskauer Rose LLP. He holds a J.D. from Boston College Law School and a B.S. from Rutgers
University.
Ms. Berdik advises private investment fund sponsors on all aspects of the structuring and establishment of private investment funds and portfolio investment activities, including capital raising, fund regulatory and compliance matters, and firm ownership and operational issues. She also has extensive experience advising sponsors on managed accounts and single investor funds involving a variety of U.S. and non-U.S. institutional investors. Ms. Berdik was previously a partner at Proskauer Rose LLP. She holds a J.D. from Boston College Law School and a B.S.B.A. from Bucknell University, and has been recognized by Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars.
