Morgan Lewis is further expanding its personal law and estate planning capabilities with the addition of highly accomplished estate planning, estate administration, tax planning, and business succession planning lawyer Sara A. Wells, who joins the firm in Boston as partner.
Ms. Wells formerly led the estate administration practice of a global law firm. She focuses on creating estate plans, including establishing various irrevocable trusts to help clients make tax-efficient transfers. She administers estates, including the preparation of Probate Court documents and estate tax returns, and advises Personal Representatives on fiduciary duties. Ms. Wells counsels on trust administration and best practices. She also helps clients work through family disputes stemming from the administration of estates and trusts. In addition, Ms. Wells assists closely held businesses with the preparation of corporate documents, including LLC operating agreements and buy-sell agreements.
A member of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, Ms. Wells frequently lectures in continuing legal education programs and was the founder of the Trusts and Estate Consortium, an organization of young estate planning professionals that has grown to more than 200 members since its founding in 2005.
“I am pleased to welcome Sara to Morgan Lewis,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “She will enhance our estate planning and personal law capabilities, particularly in Boston, where our expanded presence has uniquely positioned us to be a leading law firm in the region with access to a deep bench of legal professionals and a broad range of services worldwide.”
