Pepper Hamilton Expands IP Litigation Group in Boston

Pepper Hamilton LLP announced that Maia H. Harris has joined the firm as a partner in the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group, resident in the Boston office.

Ms. Harris focuses her practice on the enforcement and defense of patent litigation claims. She represents clients in large-scale complex patent and intellectual property litigation, including multiparty litigation before federal district courts and the International Trade Commission. Her experience includes enforcing and defending against patent infringement claims and advising clients on strategies and policies to avoid or mitigate potential conflict. Ms. Harris’ clients encompass a wide range of industries, including medical devices, consumer goods, e-commerce and software, with a particular focus on life sciences.

“Maia is a seasoned trial lawyer with significant experience in the medical device/life sciences space. She will be a valuable complement to our practice,” said William D. Belanger, co-chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department and a partner in the Boston office.

Prior to joining Pepper, Ms. Harris was a partner with Nixon Peabody and co-chair of the New England region of the firm’s Life Sciences Initiative.

Ms. Harris graduated from Harvard Law School in 2000 and earned a B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Rochester in 1995.
