Global law firm K&L Gates has strengthened its Brisbane office with the recruitment of corporate and transactional partner Jeremy Prentice. Prentice joins K&L Gates from Holding Redlich.
Prentice has more than 20 years experience advising public and private sector clients across a number of industries, including infrastructure, ports, airports, aviation, and defense. He concentrates his practice on large-scale, traditionally procured and finance-driven project structures. He has substantial experience advising on service and operating agreements, outsourcing, privatization, buy/sell agreements, borrower-side financing, and bespoke contracts addressing specific commercial requirements.
Prentice stated: “I’m excited to join K&L Gates, a firm with a significant presence in the Asia Pacific region. The private and public sector can benefit greatly from the many opportunities available to them in the region. K&L Gates provides me the ability to offer a global platform to help my clients take advantage of those opportunities.”
Nick Nichola, K&L Gates’ Managing Partner, Australia, commented: “Queensland’s economic activity is very encouraging having just recorded its highest rate of growth since the December quarter of 2011. It’s important that as a firm we grow with the economy and expand the services we offer to domestic companies and international investors looking to capitalize on opportunities in the Queensland market. With more than two decades of experience practicing throughout Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East, Jeremy adds a valuable skill-set to our fully integrated global platform. We are pleased to welcome Jeremy to the partnership.”
