Mariana Lozza and Nicolas Teijeiro join DLA Piper Argentina

DLA Piper Argentina announced today the addition of Mariana Lozza as a partner in the International Arbitration practice and Nicolas Teijeiro as a partner in the Corporate Finance practice. Both will be based in the firm’s Buenos Aires office. Lozza joins from Guglielmino & Asociados and Teijeiro joins from Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP.

Lozza focuses her practice on handling international arbitrations and advising on other international law issues, including investment law. She previously served as Argentina’s legal advisor for the Treasury Attorney General’s Office of the Nation, defending the Argentine Republic in its international disputes. From April 2013 to July 2017, she served as Deputy Director of International Affairs and Disputes of that organization. In that position, she represented Argentina before international arbitral tribunals (ICSID, UNCITRAL and the ICC) in investment disputes involving the highest stakes and cutting-edge issues, and supervised local proceedings in national jurisdictions, including the US, Belgium, Switzerland, France, Spain, Japan, Germany and the UK. She has also actively participated in the negotiation of international investment agreements, including bilateral treaties and free trade agreements, on behalf of Argentina.

Lozza holds an LL.M. degree from American University Washington College of Law and a law degree from Universidad Nacional del Sur in Bahia Blanca.

Teijeiro has advised sovereign and sub-sovereign, corporate and banking clients in international corporate and financial transactions, including US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)-registered and Rule 144 A/Regulation S capital markets offerings, financing and liability management transactions.

He also advises clients on general corporate matters and compliance with ongoing SEC reporting and other regulatory obligations. In addition, he has experience handling global antitrust matters.

Teijeiro holds an LL.M. degree from Columbia Law School and a law degree from Universidad Austral in Buenos Aires. He is admitted to practice law in New York and Argentina.
