Bob Mendenhall has joined Holland & Knight’s Charlotte office as a partner in the firm’s Tax Credit Transactions Practice. Most recently, he was a partner with Mayer Brown LLP in Charlotte.
Mr. Mendenhall focuses his practice on federal and state taxation. His experience includes tax planning, business planning and audit representation for corporations, partnerships, individuals and nonprofit organizations. In addition, he has extensive experience in transactions involving historic tax credits, new markets tax credits and low-income housing tax credits. He has served as general counsel of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Housing Partnership Inc. since 1990.
“Bob represents an exciting opportunity to establish a tax credit practice in our new Charlotte office,” said Ted Hickey, who leads Holland & Knight’s Tax Credit Transactions Practice. “His strong client relationships and stellar reputation in the industry will be an asset to the firm.”

Mr. Mendenhall received J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of North Carolina and a B.A. degree from Davidson College. Prior to practicing law, he worked as a senior tax accountant at Arthur Andersen and an audit officer for NCNB Corporation.
Holland & Knight’s Charlotte office opened in February 2016.
