A dynamic team of litigators and regulatory enforcement attorneys, consisting of partners William Mayberry, Jason Evans and Joshua Davey, has joined Troutman Sanders’ Business Litigation practice in Charlotte, North Carolina. The partners advise clients in high stakes commercial litigation, bank regulatory and government enforcement matters across the country. They previously practiced at McGuireWoods.
“Bill, Jason and Josh are recognized for their work in financial services litigation and complex regulatory matters and also have sought-after expertise in antitrust litigation, data privacy, and energy sector litigation,” said John West, chair of the firm’s Business Litigation department.
“We are delighted to grow our Charlotte office with the addition of these preeminent partners,” said Walter Fisher, managing partner of the firm’s Charlotte office. “Their sophisticated legal work and collaborative approach make them ideal partners for the firm and our clients.”
The partners are the second trio to join Troutman Sanders’ Charlotte office since July, when three leading employee benefits-focused partners, Jim Earle, Lynne Wakefield and Emily Zimmer, joined the firm.
Mayberry primarily handles banking and other commercial litigation, class actions and bank regulatory work, including enforcement actions and internal investigations. His work in commercial litigation includes antitrust cases, shareholder disputes, franchise disputes, software development disputes, construction litigation, intellectual property disputes and financial services litigation. He has substantial experience in crisis-related mortgage litigation including large cases and mass cases involving title insurance, repurchase demands and related issues.
“Troutman Sanders’ team-based approach and service culture align with our values, and we are looking forward to working with everyone in Charlotte and beyond,” Mayberry said.

He has experience in an array of industries, including financial services, energy, chemical, food and beverage, manufacturing, automotive and retail.
“The firm has a highly respected financial services practice which is important to us and our clients,” Evans said. “We also appreciate Troutman Sanders’ strategic growth and direction.”
