Akerman is pleased to announce that Christopher Lepore has rejoined the firm as a partner in the Labor and Employment Practice Group in the Chicago office. Chris brings extensive experience advising employers nationwide on complex workplace challenges, including compliance counseling, employment litigation, and workplace policy development. Lepore arrives at the firm from Levenfeld Pearlstein, LLC in Chicago.
Chris serves as a trusted advisor to businesses of all sizes, helping them navigate sensitive employment issues such as hiring, terminations, performance management, wage-and-hour compliance, and accommodations. He collaborates with clients to craft workplace policies that align with business goals while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. His practice also includes drafting and negotiating employment agreements, conducting audits and training sessions, and leading high-stakes investigations.
When litigation arises, Chris represents employers and senior executives in disputes involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage-and-hour violations, and restrictive covenants. He has successfully handled single-plaintiff cases as well as complex class actions and trade secret misappropriation disputes. Additionally, Chris advises on employment matters in M&A transactions, including due diligence and agreement negotiations.
“Chris’ deep understanding of employment law and his ability to navigate high-risk workplace challenges make him an invaluable addition to our team,” said Eric Gordon, chair of Akerman’s Labor and Employment Practice Group. “His return strengthens our ability to deliver exceptional counsel to employers nationwide, and we are thrilled to welcome him back.”
