Brian R. Michalek has joined Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr as a partner in the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice, resident in the Chicago office. Before joining the firm, Brian was a Partner at Olson & Cepuritis, Ltd.
Mr. Michalek helps companies protect their technological innovations, advances, and brand reputation through his intellectual property law practice. As a patent litigator, he has advised clients on a variety of disputes involving software-based technologies, wireless transactions and communications, medical devices, and plastic extrusion technology.
Mr. Michalek also assists clients in patent transactions and licensing, patent prosecution, and opinion matters. More specifically, he drafts, negotiates, and executes patent, trade secret, and trademark purchase and technology transfer license agreements. Mr. Michalek also drafts patent applications and prosecutes patents before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He also develops and structures patent licensing programs and negotiates licensing deals.

Mr. Michalek earned his J.D. from University of San Diego School of Law. He also has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Notre Dame.
