Barnes & Thornburg LLP has added William E. Turner II to its 100-attorney Chicago office as a partner in the Corporate Department. He joins the firm from Barack Ferrazano Kirschbaum & Nagelberg LLP, where he was a partner in the corporate and securities practice.
Turner has more than 20 years of corporate and securities law experience in matters involving mergers and acquisitions, capitalization and investment transactions, as well as disposition, separation and restructuring activities. He is well-versed in securities offerings, public company reporting and corporate governance matters. Turner also advises clients on distribution, sales, technology and financial services commercial agreements.
Turner works regularly with buyers and sellers in the software, healthcare information technology, information technology and other technology-driven industries. He has represented a number of European companies and investors in their acquisitions, investments, commercial and regulatory matters in the United States. He has participated in numerous fund and joint venture formations.

Turner is the ninth partner to join Barnes & Thornburg’s Chicago office in 2016. He is the latest addition to the firm’s Corporate Department, which has also welcomed James Browne and Ralph Dudziak in recent weeks.
Turner received his J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law, and his B.A., with honors, from the University of Chicago. He is admitted to practice in the state of Illinois and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
