Dentons announced today that it has added litigator Stephen J. Senderowitz as a partner and a leader in its securities, commodities and derivatives litigation and regulatory defense practice. Based in Chicago, Senderowitz focuses on defending complex civil, regulatory and criminal financial markets matters across the country.
For the last 30 years, Senderowitz has represented commodities and securities exchanges, investment banks, hedge funds, broker-dealers, futures merchants, traders, an electronic communications network, corporations and banks in hundreds of complex civil, regulatory and criminal financial markets matters. He has appeared in courts throughout the United States and in regulatory proceedings before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the National Futures Association (NFA), the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission and various exchanges. He has also served as an NFA arbitrator.

Prior to entering private practice, Senderowitz was Deputy Chief of the United Sates Attorney’s Office in Chicago, where he supervised financial markets and political corruption prosecutions. Since leaving public service he has twice been appointed a Deputy Special Prosecutor on cases involving election fraud and official misconduct. Senderowitz has conducted major corporate internal investigations for public and private companies involving insider trading, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigations, executive malfeasance and corporate governance.
Senderowitz earned both his JD and BA from Northwestern University.
