Former Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Porter Joins Drinker Biddle

Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP has continued the expansion of its White Collar Defense and Corporate Investigations team with the addition of former Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew C. Porter. He joins as a partner residing in the firm’s Chicago office.

As a prominent federal prosecutor, Mr. Porter investigated, prosecuted and supervised all aspects of federal criminal cases, including racketeering, securities fraud, money laundering, health care fraud and violent crime.

During his 15 years in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois, Mr. Porter oversaw more than 100 investigations and tried more than 30 federal jury trials and two federal bench trials. His record includes the investigation and prosecution of more than 100 Chicago Latin King members and their associates, and the prosecution of former Chicago Alderman Edward Vrdolyak for wire and mail fraud.

Most recently, Mr. Porter was a partner at Schiff Hardin where he concentrated his practice on white collar criminal defense, internal investigations, and corporate compliance. He also handled complex commercial litigation matters involving high-stakes disputes about trade secrets, fraud, breach of contract, consumer class actions, and director and officer liability.

Mr. Porter earned his law degree cum laude from Northwestern University School of Law where he served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Northwestern University Law Review and received his B.A. in Political Science from Illinois Wesleyan University.
