In an expansion that marks its first foray into the Midwest and its 21st location nationwide, Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce the opening of a Chicago office, initially comprised of four gaming, real estate, litigation and corporate attorneys.
Joining as partners are Donna B. More, Jeffrey M. Friedman, David N. Tanner and William Bogot. More will serve as managing partner of Fox’s Chicago office, which will be located at 353 N. Clark St., Suite 3650.

Nicholas Casiello, Jr., chair of Fox’s Gaming Practice and internationally ranked by Chambers Global, recruited the team to join the firm. Fox’s gaming attorneys routinely represent casino licensees and related vendors before various gaming control agencies and were at the forefront of Internet gaming in the United States.

In addition to strengthening the firm’s internationally recognized gaming practice, the group also brings a well-respected regulated cannabis practice to the firm. The team currently represents four of the 20 licensed growers in Illinois and has experience assisting growers and dispensaries with regulatory compliance and general business matters.
Fox has demonstrated strategic growth across the country over the past few years, most recently merging with David & Goodman, P.C. to open the firm’s Dallas office and acquiring MBV Law in San Francisco, CA.
More, Friedman, Tanner and Bogot were formerly with Nixon Peabody LLP.

Donna B. More:She provides compliance, regulatory, corporate and transaction services to clients in highly regulated industries. Drawing upon her experience as General Counsel to the Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) and her tenure as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois and Cook County State’s Attorney, she advises clients on all licensing and regulatory issues and in hearings before administrative agencies. She also represents these clients in commercial and regulatory disputes involving competitors.
More also maintains a robust medical cannabis practice, helping clients to comply with Illinois’ Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program Act. This includes working to secure cultivation licenses from the Illinois Department of Agriculture and dispensary licenses from the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.
Jeffrey M. Friedman: He provides advice to clients of all sizes on legal and business issues, including capital structure, transaction strategy, corporate governance, strategic planning and real estate investments. In addition to structuring and representing private equity funds, he counsels companies through all stages of growth including negotiating and consummating acquisitions, dispositions, mergers, asset and stock acquisitions and joint ventures.
Freidman and Tanner served as co-chairs of the Real Estate Capital Markets Practice at Ungaretti & Harris LLP, which merged with Nixon Peabody in February 2015.
David N. Tanner: He has a robust real estate practice, representing sellers and purchasers in the acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate assets, including shopping centers, in-line retail and outparcel developments, single-tenant net leased properties, office buildings, industrial buildings, multi-family and mixed-use projects and acquisitions of REO properties and other investment properties.
William Bogot:He represents clients before government agencies in highly regulated industries. As a former legal adviser to the Illinois Gaming Board (IGB), he authored portions of Illinois’ gaming regulations and advised the IGB and the governor’s office on all aspects of gaming law and regulation. He draws upon this experience to counsel clients in both the gaming and medical cannabis industries, and other industries that have similar regulatory oversight. Bill also regularly litigates in administrative hearings, trial courts and appellate courts. His litigation experience includes acting as lead counsel in state and nationwide class actions.
