DLA Piper announced today that John Hamill has joined the firm’s Litigation practice as a partner in the Chicago office.
Hamill’s practice centers on a full range of complex commercial litigation, with a strong focus on antitrust, healthcare, energy, business-to-business disputes, and RICO. He regularly counsels clients on antitrust and unfair competition matters, and has extensive experience representing clients in complex telecommunications litigation, including appellate, local competition, regulatory and class-action matters.
“John is a first-chair trial lawyer who has an established reputation in high-stakes litigation,” said Loren Brown, co-chair of DLA Piper’s US Litigation practice. “As an experienced antitrust litigator, he will also enhance the depth and strength of the firm’s Litigation practice in an increasingly competitive market.”
Hamill joins the firm from Jenner & Block, where he chaired the firm’s Antitrust and Competition Law Practice. An active member of the professional community in Chicago, he has served on the Board of Governors of the Seventh Circuit Bar Association and the Board of Directors of the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
Hamill earned his J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School, and his B.A. summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame.
