Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Michael Gnesin to its Fort Lauderdale and Chicago offices as a partner in the firm’s Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Securities & Corporate Finance Practices. With more than a decade of experience in the merger and acquisition space, Mr. Gnesin has represented individuals as well as domestic and international corporate clients in hundreds of commercial transactions of all sizes. Fluent in Russian and Spanish, Mr. Gnesin currently concentrates his practice in corporate law, banking and finance, employment law, and commercial real estate law. He has a strong client base in both southern Florida and Chicago, which will now benefit from the knowledge and expertise of Lewis Brisbois’ 54-office, nationwide network. Gnesin joins the firm from Kelleher + Holland, LLC.

Mr. Gnesin, who immigrated from the Soviet Union when he was seven years old, will also work with Lewis Brisbois’ Ukraine Conflict Response team. In this role, he will help clients and colleagues address the array of complex issues that businesses in the United States and abroad are facing as a result of the Russia-Ukraine war.
In discussing Mr. Gnesin’s arrival at the firm, Fort Lauderdale Managing Partner Michael G. Platner, who serves as chair of Lewis Brisbois’ National Corporate Practice and co-chair of its Securities & Corporate Finance Practice, noted, “We are fortunate to add Michael to our national team right here in South Florida, adding a new unique skill set and team leadership to our corporate and M&A practices as well as our Russian-Ukraine issues response team.”
Outside of his practice, Mr. Gnesin serves as Group Leader and on the Executive Committee of ProVisors, a national networking organization. Additionally, he is an active volunteer/member for the Jewish United Fund’s Young Lawyers Group and the Association for Corporate Growth.
Mr. Gnesin earned his law degree from the DePaul University College of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois. He is admitted to practice in Florida, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
