Winston & Strawn LLP is pleased to announce Matt Stevens has joined the firm as partner in the Corporate Department. Mr. Stevens, who will be based in the firm’s Chicago office, brings experience advising clients with respect to a wide variety of corporate transactions, particularly focusing on mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions, and has significant cross-border experience throughout the world. He also regularly advises publicly and privately held companies with respect to general corporate matters and complex commercial engagements.

Mr. Stevens is the latest in a series of high profile lateral partners to join Winston’s Corporate Department. His arrival follows Rick Frye, who joined the firm’s Dallas office in March 2017; Ian Borman, who started in London in January 2017; and Campbell Steedman and Shibeer Ahmed, who the firm welcomed in Dubai at the end of 2016.
Mr. Stevens was most recently the Vice President and Associate Counsel of Mergers and Acquisitions for Dover Corporation (NYSE: DOV), a Fortune 400 multi-industrial international manufacturing leader with annual revenue exceeding $7 billion, where he led the mergers and acquisitions legal function globally for a robust pipeline that included transactions in the United States, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Prior to Dover Corporation, Mr. Stevens was a corporate associate at Sidley Austin LLP and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
Mr. Stevens is also a former United States Navy Lieutenant. He is a graduate of Boston College Law School and received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Notre Dame.
