Much Shelist Adds Three Attorneys to Firm’s Business & Finance and Real Estate Practice Groups

Much Shelist recently announced the addition of Jeffrey A. Jung as a principal in the Business & Finance practice group. Scott M. Lapins, principal, and Patrick A. Brennan, associate, also joined the Real Estate practice group.

Jeffrey Jung is a corporate and transactional attorney with more than 20 years of experience representing private and public corporations, financial institutions and investment banks on a variety of securities, finance and general corporate matters. Jung focuses on protecting the best interests of borrowers and lenders engaged in traditional lending, asset securitization and structured finance transactions. He also counsels clients involved in secured financings in a variety of industries, with particular emphasis on health care and technology-focused transactions involving health care royalty, revenue-interest and related hybrid financing structures. Jung earned a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.A. from Yale University.

Scott Lapins has more than 35 years of experience representing businesses, banks and institutional lenders in all aspects of buying, selling, financing and developing real estate. For lenders, Lapins provides counsel on construction and mezzanine loans, as well as complex loan workouts, restructurings, deed-in-lieu of foreclosure transactions and other matters involving distressed assets. As a certified public accountant, Lapins advises on day-to-day corporate and tax issues, such as business formations, joint ventures, and sales and mergers of companies. Lapins received a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, where he served on the editorial board of The Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology. He earned a B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Patrick Brennan helps clients accomplish their business objectives while navigating the transactional and legal issues associated with commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, leases and financings. He devotes a substantial portion of his practice to representing lenders in structuring, negotiating, documenting and completing commercial real estate acquisition and construction and development loans. Brennan also represents clients in credit restructurings, loan workouts and distressed asset sales, and he has significant experience resolving disputes in and outside of state and federal court litigation and bankruptcy cases. He earned a J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.
