Sedgwick LLP announced that Cinthia Granados Motley joined the firm as a partner in its Chicago office. Motley practices in the areas of cyber security and privacy, ERISA, multi-jurisdiction commercial litigation, and insurance.

Prior to Sedgwick, Motley served as partner at Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker LLP and worked at the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. A native of Honduras, she brings to Sedgwick an active international practice that focuses on data privacy, security and liability matters, as well as information governance, e-discovery, international contract disputes, directors and officers liability and employment defense. In her litigation practice, she also has a strong background in handling ERISA and professional liability matters both in state and federal courts, and routinely counsels clients in complex commercial disputes both domestically and abroad.
Motley has represented clients in appellate matters before the Seventh, Eighth and Ninth Circuits, and she has handled litigation matters in multiple states, including Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Iowa, California, South Carolina and Florida, as well as before the American Arbitration Association and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
Motley is also an active member of the legal community with memberships in the Seventh Circuit Bar Association, American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, DRI – The Voice of The Defense Bar, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals e-Discovery Pilot Program Committee. She is also a member of the Chicago Latino Network Association, an adjunct professor at Chicago-Kent College of Law and an active board member of the Chicago Claim Association.
Motley earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and her bachelor’s degree from Loyola University in Chicago.
