Holland & Knight has taken another step to secure its leading position among Representations and Warranties Insurance (RWI) advisory firms with the hiring of Andrew D. Shapiro and Jason S. Dubner as partners in the firm’s Chicago office. Mr. Shapiro and Mr. Dubner were previously co-chairs of the Representations and Warranties Insurance Practice Group at Porter Wright Morris & Arthur.
Wade Kennedy, a highly regarded lawyer who focuses on asset-based lending and syndicated financings, has joined Holland & Knight as a partner in the firm’s Chicago office. He will be co-chair of the firm’s Asset-Based Lending Team along with Christopher Dillon in Atlanta. Mr. Kennedy was previously the head of the asset-based lending group at McGuireWoods LLP.
Less than a month after the launch of its Data Centers and Digital Infrastructure Practice, top 100 U.S. law firm Akerman LLP has expanded the national practice with partner Bruce “Eddie” Lowry in Chicago. He follows the arrival of James Grice, chair of the Data Centers and Digital Infrastructure Practice, and partner Michael McKinley. Lowry joins from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner in Chicago.

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright today announced that seven lawyers, including partners John F. Young and Christine Fernandez Owen, and three paralegals have joined its real estate practice. The team previously comprised Clean Law PC, a Chicago-based boutique renewables real estate firm representing leading and emerging developers and operators of clean energy projects in the United States and globally.
Cozen O’Connor introduced insurance litigator Kimberly Petrina — former head of North American Casualty Claims at a global specialty insurance company — as the newest member of its fast-growing Global Insurance Department. Petrina, who joins as a member, will work out of the firm’s Chicago office. She is the 16th attorney to join Cozen O’Connor’s Global Insurance Department in 2022, which has grown to over 100 lawyers nationwide. Petrina was previously Head of North American Casualty Claims at AXIS Capital in Chicago.
