Partner Richard A. Fiore Returns to Freeborn & Peters LLP

Freeborn & Peters LLP is pleased to announce that Richard A. Fiore has joined the firm as a Partner in the Litigation Practice Group and a member of the Transportation Industry Practice Team. Fiore will utilize his expertise as a litigator to serve a wide array of transportation clients, while also growing the firm’s aviation practice.

Fiore began his career at Freeborn & Peters before moving to United Airlines, where he was Associate General Counsel. In that role, Fiore led the litigation and intellectual property team in managing all aspects of the company’s litigation and intellectual property portfolios. During his ten years with the airline, Fiore managed significant litigation matters in all areas, including antitrust, bankruptcy, class actions, construction, consumer fraud, employment, general commercial, government investigations, labor arbitrations, real estate, regulatory, tax, toxic tort and wrongful death litigation including major airline disasters.

Fiore’s representative matters include a decade long criminal cartel investigation into the air cargo industry, regulatory investigations and enforcement actions by multiple governmental agencies, as well as the defense of multi-billion dollar property, business interruption and wrongful death litigation arising from the September 11th terrorist attacks. Fiore received his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law and earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
