Polsinelli, an Am Law 100 firm, announced today that intellectual property litigator Luke Shannon has joined its Chicago office as a Shareholder in the Intellectual Property Department.
Shannon focuses his practice on patent infringement suits that arise under the Hatch-Waxman Amendments to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. He participates in all stages of litigation, from pre-suit through appeal, and has also represented clients in a variety of commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract and tort disputes. Shannon is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and has experience in preparing patent applications, patentability reports, and freedom to operation opinions, including opinions of non-infringement and invalidity, in the fields of pharmaceutical compositions, aerosol propellants, consumer products, and renewable power generation.

Shannon is a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago – Kent College of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry.
