Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli welcomes real estate attorney Robert J. Bello as a shareholder in the firm’s Chicago and Los Angeles offices. Bello joins the firm’s national Real Estate Practice, having a deep background in commercial real estate. Prior to joining Polsinelli, Bello was at Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP.
Bello focuses on commercial real estate transactions related to leasing, acquisition, development, disposition and financing of real estate assets. Bello’s extensive experience includes representing numerous tenants and landlords in the leasing of industrial, commercial office, laboratory and manufacturing properties throughout the country. Bello also routinely counsels clients in the acquisition and disposition of multi-family, retail, commercial office, and industrial properties across the United States, and has been a leader in multiple portfolio transactions with values that have exceeded one billion dollars.

Greenfield. “Clients rely on Robert to analyze and develop responses to their real estate matters, and he’ll have ample opportunity to shine on our team.”
Bello’s expertise in transactional real estate matters includes drafting, negotiating and analyzing leases, purchase and sale agreements, SNDAs, estoppel certificates, development agreements, easements and CC&Rs.

The San Diego Business Journal honored Bello as General Counsel of the Year in 2015 and 2016, and he was a finalist for Orange County Business Journal’s General Counsel of the Year from 2014-2017. In 2010, he was recognized as San Diego Daily Transcript’s Top Young Attorney. Bello currently serves as a Director on the N-Club’s Board of Directors. Bello holds dual citizenship with the U.S. and Italy and speaks Italian. He also holds real estate brokerage licenses in California, Illinois and Georgia.
Bello earned his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University where he was also a varsity letter winner on the baseball team, and an MBA from San Diego State University before obtaining a J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law where he graduated magna cum laude. While in law school, Bello was a member of Law Review and was a judicial extern for Justice Judith Haller at the California Court of Appeal and for Judge Leo Papas (Ret.) at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.
Bello joins Polsinelli’s growing Real Estate Practice, which consists of a deep bench of attorneys who provide the practical solutions clients value, as well as vast experience in areas that include transactions, financing structures and land use entitlements from acquisition and financing through development and leasing.
