Polsinelli Continues Growth, Adds Health Care Attorney in Chicago

Polsinelli, an Am Law 100 firm, continues to see strong growth and welcomes a new attorney to its Health Care Department in Chicago.

Tracey Klein joins the firm as a shareholder and will provide counsel to acute care hospitals, multi provider health care systems, multi-specialty clinics, managed care companies and health insurance companies.

Bringing over 30 years of experience to the firm, Klein has a particular focus on corporate governance, having spent much of her career advising health system boards of directors. She provides legal counsel on best governance practices, the role of compensation, audit, and governance committees, as well as how approaches to hospital governance impact quality of care.

“We continue to deepen our bench in Chicago and nationally, and Tracey is a big part of that plan,” said Matt Murer, chair of the firm’s Health Care Department. “She’s a great resource to clients navigating the complex pressures of the health care marketplace and the ever-changing regulatory environment. She’s knowledgeable and business-minded, so her strategic counsel really helps clients connect the way they run their business operations to the quality of care they deliver.”

Recognized as a leader in health care law, Polsinelli is ranked the 2018 “Law Firm of the Year” in Health Care by U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Law Firms.” Additionally, the firm ranked No. 1 in AHLA’s 2018 Top Honors report for the size of its membership within the organization. And, it is the nation’s second-largest health care law firm, according to Modern Healthcare’s 2018 Healthcare Law Firm Survey.

“Tracey choosing to join our firm underscores the City’s deep pool of emerging and experienced legal talent,” said Mary Clare Bonaccorsi, Polsinelli’s Chicago office managing partner who also chairs the firm’s national Health Care Litigation practice. “Our office reflects the vitality and diversity of our location and we’re proud that since we opened the Chicago office in in 2006, we’ve expanded to more than 100 attorneys working across several national practice areas, including one of the largest health care practices in the country.”

Beyond Health Care, Polsinelli’s attorneys in Chicago work across practice areas including Corporate and Transactional, Financial Services, Labor and Employment, Real Estate and Science and Technology. The office is home to former general counsels and state agency attorneys, along with the presidents of multiple bar association groups.

“I’m thrilled to join such a dynamic and innovative firm,” Klein said. “There’s a concentration of talent here, with capability to handle clients’ needs across the full range of their businesses. Along with that, there’s a real focus on client service and teamwork. I’m looking forward to working with this team to serve my current clients and build new relationships.”

Klein graduated cum laude from Marquette University Law School, and received her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Stretched across 21 offices nationally, Polsinelli’s highly-trained attorneys work as a fully integrated practice to seamlessly partner with clients on the full gamut of issues. The firm’s health care attorneys understand the opportunities and business challenges that face the industry. The firm has built a team that is made up of a mix of former in-house counsel at national health care institutions, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), and former leaders within various regulatory agencies and attorneys with advanced degrees and backgrounds in the health sciences.
