DLA Piper announced today that Ryan Vann has joined the firm’s Employment practice as a partner in Chicago. Vann joins DLA Piper from Baker McKenzie LLP.
Vann focuses his practice on labor and employment litigation and counseling, as well as employment-related aspects of complex corporate transactions. He has extensive traditional labor law experience, representing clients in National Labor Relations Board unfair labor practice proceedings, contractual arbitrations, representation proceedings and labor negotiations; advising clients during union organizing campaigns; and providing day-to-day labor relations advice arising from mergers, acquisitions and other strategic alliances.
“We are extremely excited to add Ryan to our Employment team in Chicago,” said Brian Kaplan, US chair and global co-chair of DLA Piper’s Employment practice. “His skill set is a stellar addition to our employment capabilities across the firm, and will bolster our ability to provide an important service to clients across a range of practices and sectors of our global platform.”
“Knowledgeable employment counsel continues to be in high demand, and Ryan’s broad experience, particularly in advising clients on the employment aspects of sophisticated transactions, will be immediately valuable to our Corporate, Finance and Real Estate teams, among others,” said Jesse Criz, co-managing partner of the firm’s Chicago office. “We are very pleased to welcome him to the firm.”
Vann earned his J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law and his B.S. from Indiana University.
