Winston & Strawn LLP is pleased to announce that Joseph Devaney has rejoined the firm’s Corporate Department as a partner in Chicago. Joe was previously a partner at McDermott, Will & Emery.
“We’re delighted to welcome Joe back to the firm in Chicago,” said Winston Chairman Tom Fitzgerald. “His practice is the perfect complement to our growing Corporate Department, particularly in light of our recent M&A and private equity-focused lateral group additions.”
Joe represents public and private borrowers, private equity sponsors, financial institutions, and portfolio companies in connection with structuring, negotiating, and documenting syndicated secured and unsecured credit facilities for sponsored acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, refinancings, and general corporate purposes. He also represents issuers in high-yield financings and public and private debt offerings.
“Joe has forged a substantial practice representing corporate borrowers and financial sponsors in a wide range of transactions,” said Dominick DeChiara, chair of Winston’s Corporate Department. “His extensive experience working on deals across a variety of industries will enhance our ability to address the complex and diverse financing needs of our clients.”
Joe also has experience with domestic and international credit facilities, multicurrency facilities, asset-based transactions, second lien facilities, mezzanine financings, and subordinated debt transactions across a range of industries, including manufacturing, health care, agriculture, retail, and financial services.
This addition to Winston’s Corporate Department follows the early 2018 arrival of a group of nine leading private equity and mergers and acquisitions partners from Jenner & Block LLP in New York and Chicago, and the May 2018 West Coast expansion to the firm’s private equity practice with two partners in Los Angeles.
