With over 25 years as a labor and employment attorney and trial lawyer, Barry Y. Freeman has joined Roetzel’s Employment Services Group as a Shareholder in the firm’s Cleveland office. Freeman joins the firm from Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLC.

Mr. Freeman represents employers of all sizes in litigation and administrative matters, in addition to handling all aspects of labor and employment law, including discrimination, harassment and retaliation; wage and hour; unfair competition and trade secrets, employee benefits; traditional labor law; defamation; and workers’ compensation.
Mr. Freeman has an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell, which signifies that a large number of his peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence for his knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards. He is also listed in Sutton’s Who’s Who in American Law. He has been included in Best Lawyers in America® (2018-2020) and selected for inclusion in Ohio Super Lawyers® (2011-13, 2015-2020) and been an Ohio Super Lawyer – Rising Star™ (2005-2008).
Mr. Freeman received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and his B.A. from the University of Chicago. He is admitted to practice in Ohio, Michigan and West Virginia.
